Step by step into modeling makeup at the Chanel Spring / Summer 2021 show

In the Chanel Spring / Summer 2021 ready-to-wear show, designer Virginie Viard took inspiration from star looks over the red carpet … as she explains the scene by saying: “I was thinking of actresses on the red carpet, at that moment when the paparazzi called them: Their faces are a little stray, their style is inconsistent. A little bit with the clothes they’re wearing. Then, we see this scene where fans line up behind the barriers, this vital aspect of cinema that takes place outside the cinema, that’s what I love. This group is a tribute to the house’s inspirations. Some of them are far away, and it’s been a long time since we saw them. And Gabrielle designed them. Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld have fashioned many actresses for their films and outside of photography. I used to think of them, about whoever makes us dream so much. But I didn’t want to repeat the same thing. I didn’t want to hint at an old design. I wanted the group to be cheerful, colorful and lively. “

The scene was translated by Chanel makeup designer Lucia Pica in a dazzling and wonderful make-up, using Chanel products. Is there a product that you particularly enjoy using for this makeup look, Lucia says in response to a question? “I particularly enjoyed using ULTRA LE TEINT compact foundation, because it’s a creamy powder foundation but it looks very light, like a veil. I really liked using it because it gave me that matte matte finish that I was looking for,” she replies.
