Saturday, October 17, hundreds of flowers and signs were placed on the steps of the college of Bois d’Aulne, in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, in tribute to Samuel Paty, professor of history and geography, decapitated the day before. Local residents, parents and students came on Saturday October 17 to salute his memory.
In the crowd, Romy, 11, is very distressed. His 6th grade class is the last to have had lessons with the teacher. “Yesterday, I was a little in shock. That they say that on TV, I didn’t expect it at all. I thought to myself, I got out of class and ten minutes later, he died”, she says. Samuel Paty’s students speak of a caring and caring man. The 47-year-old teacher was a calm man who was passionate about his work. “I have the impression of having lost one of mine, we are part of a big family”, deplores a professor. The college will remain a gathering place for all those who wish to salute the commitment of the history-geography professor.
